Day at Huber's Farm with Pawpaw and Granny!

Last Sunday we went to Huber's Farm to pick a pumpkin and have some Fall weather fun. I thought David would enjoy all the orange "ba;;s" - which is what he calls them. It may have been the unexpectedly warm weather that made him little interested in finding the perfect pumpkin. He did have lots of fun, however, with the giant slide and feeding the goats. He LOVED the goats. Here's some pics.

At the zoo!

David Michael's first trip to the zoo was Saturday, May the 22nd. He seemed to have a great time. It was pretty hot out, but that didn't seem to slow him down a bit. We pushed him all around the zoo. It took til about the giraffes for him tell that he wasn't in New Hope anymore! What were those strange creatures. Kind of like horses but much different. He also seemed amused with the camels, and attempted to ride the goats at the petting zoo. Here are a few pictures from our day.

Easter!

We spent the day attending church and then off to Uncle George and Aunt Glenna's house. David loved playing outside. When it came to the Easter Egg Hunt, he was pretty tired, since he refused to take a nap beforehand. He was pretty much falling asleep as I led him to "his" items. He got one egg for each hand and was pretty much done with it all. I suppose you could guess what his favorite item was - a balloon! (He didn't get any candy =)

David Michael's First Birthday Party!

I still can't believe this little guy is already one year old! Looking back through the blog, it seems like he has been with us for so long but at the same time it went by so fast.

The theme for this party was turtle! Why? I wish I had a photo to justify it, but when he was little he would strain his neck out and make this cute little face, which we affectionately referred to as his "turtle face."

I made a cake, granny made cupcakes and a fruit-carved turtle! So much fun.

David seemed to enjoy his first birthday party, though I think it somewhat confused him. He grew particularly attached to his balloon.

Gethsemane

Last Sunday was such a beautiful day. We decided to go for a walk at Gethsemani. We had a good time before it got too chilly. Here are some pics.

Of course he likes the bag!

Mom gave David Michael a gift for Valentine's day. The bag was filled with all kinds of cute things. What does he play with most? The bag. He carried it around the whole day Monday. He wouldn't sit it down while he played with other toys or even when he nursed! Pretty funny.

Valentine's Day!

For V-day Stuart and I were going to keep it very simple. I bought him 2 Heath bars and wrapped them up. I also made cards from David and I. Stuart got me a big glass bottle coke. Yum.

We put a gate up to block David from getting into the kitchen. I took this picture as he was trying to squeeze through the bars. It's sad and funny at the same time.

He is a climber!

A couple weekends ago we attended a b0day party for a very special friend of ours - Mr. Matthew who turned 4! While there David Michael took special interest in the stairs, having seen the other children run up and down them several times. He made it all the way up on his own. Pretty impressive, since we have no stairs for him to practice with! His one source of trouble was his desire to WALK up them, rather than crawl! =)

The week after, we caught him red handed! He had found a way to practice at home when we mistakenly left out a perfect prop! We won't be doing it again!

Premier Rally!

David Michael, Mom and I packed up and headed to Columbus, Ohio this past weekend for regional rally with Premier! It was actually somewhat stressful, but it had its fun moments. I enjoyed the training sessions, seeing the new jewelry, and being reminded of what an exciting Christian company Premier truly is. Now if I can just determine what to do with my life... Anyway, here is one such fun moment. Mom is so goofy. =) She is singing and dancing. Then she realizes that her singing may be effecting her speed, when she sees a cop. She slows down. Then goes crazy. David seems not to notice so much although he did clap a bit to the music.

He's snapping, clapping and dancing!

Wow! Snapping? I think I was seven before I mastered that skill! I can only attribute it to the early days of his life, listening to Bob Dylan, and Granny dancing around to the 60's music with him just about every Wednesday since! Last night we saw that he was trying to snap. When we listened carefully we realized he actually WAS snapping! So cute. Stephanie was over for dinner. We tried several times to get in on video, but as anyone with a baby knows - he'll never do it when you want him to! This was my best attempt!

He's a toddler!

Our Christmas!

I must say that this Christmas was absolutely amazing. Not only did the Christmas story hit home more having given birth to our son this year, but our families went the extra mile to make this Christmas amazing.

My Dad made this fantastic toy chest for David Michael. It's so perfect and I am sure that it will be cherished for many years. My Mom made me a quilt for our bedroom, which is gorgeous.

My Dad also pulled out the big guns giving me prayer books and a rosary that had belonged to his grandmother. What a precious family heirloom.

I know that Christmas is not about what you got. I got a ton of crazy gifts as well as the ones above that cost lots of money and will hopefully make my life easier, but none of them are quite as special as these heartfelt gifts.

Well, Stuart got me tickets to see Wicked this coming May. That was pretty fantastic as well. =)

David Michael got entirely too many toys. I am thinking next year of having each side of the family draw names to decide who gets to buy him a toy. Anyone else can choose either not to give or give him money for his account. Maybe clothes - those are helpful. =) Not to be rude...
